In this article explaining the useful steps to Resetting VPS  Password with OVH

Step 1:

First need to open the SSH session on your VPS. In Windows, the SSH client does not exist by default so you will need an additional software. The Additional Software is PuTTY. That can be downloaded from here for free.

Download PuTTY: https://www.putty.org/

Step 2:

When  download complete, simply launch it and then enter the VPS details you received by email:

While launched , A console window will appear, type root as user name and the associated password, received in the OVH activation email. If you don’t make any mistake, the SSH session is open on your server. Like this:

Step 3:

Change the root password, Now we will change the default root password that you have received in the activation mail from OVH. Do not use a simple password. Use a complex password, the whole security of your system will depend on this password. Now type the bellow command and confirm 2 times for your new root password.

Type: passwd (Enter)

then type your new password 2 times. but the password will not show because of the security issue. so type carefully no mistyping.
