বৃহস্পতিবার দুপুরে রাজধানীর বাংলাদেশ পোস্ট বক্স (জিপিও) কার্যালয়ে বাংলাদেশে ডাক বিভাগের পোস্ট ই-কমার্স সার্ভিসের শুভ উদ্বোধন করেন ডাক ও টেলিযোগাযোগ প্রতিমন্ত্রী তারানা তালিম।

তারানা হালিম বলেন, ঢাকা শহরের এগারোটি স্থানে পোস্ট ই-কমার্স সার্ভিস দেওয়া হবে। জিপিও ঢাকা, শান্তিনগর, গুলশান, বনানী, মোহাম্মাদপুর, মিরপুর, নিউমার্কেট, উত্তরা এবং তেজগাঁও পয়েন্টে এ সার্ভিস দেওয়া হবে।

তারানা আরো বলেন, এ সার্ভিসের মাধ্যমে অনলাইনে কেনাবেচায় গ্রাহকরা একদিকে যেমন কম খরচে উন্নত সেবা পাবে, অন্যদিকে পোস্ট অফিসে সার্ভিসের ধরনও বদলে যাবে। ফলে ই-কমার্স সার্ভিস হবে পোস্ট অফিসের আয়ের অন্যতম উৎস।একদিন অ্যামাজান ও আলিবাবার চেয়ে এ সার্ভিস এগিয়ে যাবে বলেও আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করেন প্রতিমন্ত্রী।

বাংলাদেশ ডাক বিভাগ ও ই-ক্যাবের মধ্যে গত ১৭ নভেম্বর একটি সমঝোতা স্মারক স্বাক্ষর হয়। ওই চুক্তি বাস্তবায়ন করতে আজ আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে যাত্রা শুরু হলো বাংলাদেশ ডাক বিভাগের মাধ্যমে ই-কমার্সে পণ্য ডেলিভারি সার্ভিস। এর মধ্য দিয়ে আজ থেকে ঢাকা শহরের এগারোটি স্থানে পোস্ট ই-কমার্স সার্ভিস চালু হলো।

আশা করছি ধীরে ধীরে পুরো বাংলাদেশে এই ডেলিভারি পদ্ধতি চালু হবে । আশা করা যায় ২০১৭ সাল ই-কমার্স অঙ্গনে বড় ধরণের পরিবর্তরন এর সুবাতাস লাগবে।
