Description

WeRide L4 Self Driving

Recently, China's autonomous driving company WeRide announced the launch of unmanned minibus service in Guangzhou International Bio Island. Now, VeRide has reportedly announced that it has become the first company to officially receive a road testing license in Beijing for its self-driving minibus. This bus is equipped with L4 self-driving technology. It is a completely unmanned shuttle bus, excluding steering wheel, brakes and driver cockpit.

According to Gizmochina, WeRide has received a road testing license in Beijing for its self-driving minibus, becoming the first company to achieve this milestone. After this, WeRide's unmanned minibus can legally operate on public roads in Beijing. According to the report, the autonomous shuttle can operate in a total area of 60 square kilometers under the license obtained by the company.

Apart from this, the report also suggests that WeRide has also reached the mass production level for this design of its minibus. This is the first time that a high level autonomous vehicle has been approved for a road testing license in Beijing. WeRide's shuttle bus will run entirely on electricity.

Let us know that its top speed is 40 kilometers per hour. It promises safe driving service from city roads to expressways, tunnels and even in bad weather. The model name of this self-driving mini bus has not been revealed.

The WeRide minibus is very different from other self-driving electric vehicles. This electric shuttle has neither steering wheel nor brake pedal parts. It also has no driver's cockpit. The bus is fully automated and controls itself through a system equipped with cameras and sensors as well as sophisticated artificial intelligence.
